Vignettes FAQ
What exactly is a "Vignette"?
A 30-second curated stringout of elite atmospheric rushes. Each vignette usually contains up to 20 short clips joined by hard cuts. It’s designed to be dropped directly into your timeline so you can razor out the exact cinematic shots you need without scrubbing through hours of raw archive footage. Perfect for: • Teasers and title sequences • Into-breaks and out-of-breaks • High-impact broadcast transitions • Social media edits • Promos, bumpers, and digital content • Fast-turnaround productions
What is the licensing agreement? Are there any extra fees?
All Vignettes come with a flat-fee Universal Broadcast License. The £399 price clears the footage for: • Global television broadcast • VOD streaming • Digital and social media use • Perpetual usage rights There are: • No cue sheets • No territory restrictions • No hidden royalties • No renewal fees Please review the full legal agreement here: Link to Full Terms & Conditions
Why are there text codes burned into the preview footage?
The 30-second Vignettes are designed for fast-paced edits, bumpers, and teases. The source code burned into each clip preview acts as your direct shot reference. If your director decides they want to use a specific shot for a longer sequence — such as a 15-second opening title — simply email the relevant code to upgrade and license the full, uncut 4K master file for just £99.
Do you offer multi-buy discounts for larger productions?
Yes. You can bundle: • 3 Vignettes for £1,000
Can my production company pay by invoice?
Absolutely. Production managers and accounts departments often prefer direct invoicing over card purchases. Simply get in touch with your project details and requested packages, and an invoice can be issued immediately.
Does the downloaded file include the music from the preview?
Yes. The 30-second stringout file includes the same music track used in the preview. However, the music is AI-generated, supplied free of charge, and is not intended for broadcast use. Editors should mute or remove the audio track during the edit — although technically, usage is permitted. If you upgrade and purchase any individual uncut master clips using the burned-in codes, those standalone files are delivered completely dry (without sound) to ensure a clean broadcast workflow.
Why buy a Vignette instead of hiring a camera operator for the day?
A standard specialist camera operator day rate is typically £450 + VAT before: • Travel expenses • Kit hire • Weather risk • Additional production costs These Vignettes provide instant access to elite, guaranteed 4K footage for less than the cost of placing a single operator on location.
How do I receive the files?
If purchased directly through the website, you’ll receive a secure download link immediately after checkout. Files are delivered in a broadcast-ready, high-bitrate 4K format suitable for immediate import into your edit or production timeline.
